An Chomhairle Olla, the Wool Marketing Board was established under the Wool Marketing Act and commenced in 1969. Its functions were reabsorbed into the Department of Agriculture in 1984.
The Dairy Produce Consultative Council was established in 1925 under the Diary Produce Act and abolished in 1960s.
The Farm Tax Commission  was established under the Farm Tax Act 1985 and dissolved in 1987.
The Forestry Commission was established under the Forestrly Act 1919 Â and absorbed into the Department of Agriculture and Lands in 1927.
The Milling Advisory Committee was established in 1933 under the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act 1933 and was abolished in 1958.
The Agricultural Institute was established in 1958 under the Agricultural (An Foras Taluntais) and lasted until 1988 where it became part of Teagasc.
The Agricultural Wages Act established the Agricultural Wages Board in 1937 which continued until 1977 when it was replaced by Joint Labour Committee for Agricultural Workers.
An Bord Bainne was established under the Dairy Produce Marketing Act in 1961 and continued until 1975.
After the passing of the Agricultural and Technical Instruction Act of 1898 the Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction was set up in 1900. One of its functions was the administration of the Board of Education grant-in-aid for technical and scientific instruction, along with responsibility for several colleges.

The Bacon Marketing Board was established in 1935 under the Pigs and Bacon Act and continued  until 1940.
An Bord Bia was established under the Bord Bia Act 1994. Bord Glas was established under the Bord Glas Act 1990 and absorbed into Bord Bia in 2004.
Bord na gCapall was established in 1971 under the Horse Industry Act and dissolved by Act in 1989.
Bord na gCon was established under the Greyhound Industry Act in 1957 and is still extant
The Food Safety Advisory Board was established in 1995 and replaced by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland was established under the Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act 1998 and is still in existence.
The National Agricultural Authority was established by National Agricultural Authority Act 1977 and replaced by An Chomhairle Oiliuna Talmhaiochta, (ACOT) Council for Development and Agriculture under the Agriculture Act 1979 to provide training and advisory services for farmers. It took over the functions and personnel of the five state colleges (Athenry, Ballyhaise, Clonakilty, Kildalton and the College of Amenity Horticulture) previously operated by the Department of Agriculture. It also took over responsibility for the state funding of the private colleges. In 1981, an ACOT Expert Group undertook a major review of agricultural training policy. Its report was the first to recognise that agricultural training had developed in an ad hoc manner and that a degree of co-ordination and standardisation was needed. Following this review, ACOT initiated the Certificate in Farming, a comprehensive training programme for young entrants to farming.
Teagasc was established under the 1988 Act taking over the functions previously undertaken by An Foras Talúntais, ACOT and the local committees of agriculture. . It subsumed the training functions of the national advisory and training body (ACOT). The rationale for this was that considerable benefit could be derived from the co-ordination and integration of the training service with the research and advisory services’

Pigs Marketing Board merged with The Bacon Marketing Board to form the Pigs and Bacon Commission in 1935. It was replaced by the Pigs and Bacon’s Commission in 1940. The Pigs and Bacons Commission replaced The Bacon Marketing Board and Pigs Marketing Board in 1940. It was privatised in 1983.
Safefood, The Food Safety Promotion Board was established on 2 December 1999 under the British Irish Agreement 1998.
The Agricultural Credit Corporation was established under the Agricultural Credit Act 1927. It was reconstituted under the ACC Bank Act 1992 and amended by the ACC Act 2001. It was purchased by the Rabobank at the end of 2001.
An Foras Forbartha Teoranta was established in 1964 and absorbed into the Environmental Protection Agency in 1993.
Ceimici Teoranta was established under the Industrial Alcohol Amendment Act 1946 and continued until 1986.
Animal Feeding Stuffs (Eire) Â Limited was established on 30 November 1939 and dissolved on 1 September 1950.
Coillte Teoranta was established 1 January 1989
Córas Beostoic agus Feola  Teoranta ( a company) was established in 1969 and replaced by Córas Beostoic agus Feola Teoranta ( a statutory board)was established in 1979.
Éireann Foods was established as a subsidiary of Irish Sugar and was sold in 1990.
ComhluchtSiúicre Éireann, Teoranta, , the Irish Sugar Company was established under the Sugar Manufacture Act 1933 and privatised under the Sugar Acts 1991, which  privatised the entity and it became Greencore at that time.
The Diary Disposal Company Limited was established under the Creamery Act and continued till 1972.
Min Fheir Teo  was established in 1954 under the Grass Meal (Production) Act 1953. A second incarnation was established in 1960 under the Grass Meal (Production) Act 1959. It was liquidated in 1982.
The National Dairy Publicity Council was established in 1964 and changed to an industry financed organisation on joining the EU in 1973.
The Milk Quota Appeals Tribunal was established in 1990 and is still active.
The Advisory Council for Science Technology and Innovation was established in 1985, as a successor body to the Irish Council for Science Technology and Innovation.
The Advisory Council on Development Corporation was established in 1979 and continued until 1991.
 An Forás Orgánach was incorporated in 2009.
The Butter Marketing Committee was reorganised under the Dairy Produce Price Stabilisation Act 1935 and was replaced by Bord Bainne in 1961.
The National Council for Forest Research and Development was established in 1993 and merged back into the Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
Comhlucht, the Irish Sugar Company was established under the Sugar Manufacture Act 1933 and privatised under the Sugar Acts 1991.
The Grain Importers (Éire), Limited, was established in 1939 and subsisted until 1960.
 The Irish Potato Marketing Company Ltd was formed in 1950 and in 1977 it became a subsidiary of the Donegal Creameries Plc.
